Version: v2
Effective date: 28 September 2026
*Version v1 of 27 September 2026 announced that ijik collected no location, no device identifier, no browsing data, and that it shared nothing with anyone. That was untrue on those points. This version states what the product does.*
This document summarises, plainly, what data ijik collects, why, and what becomes of it. It matches what we declare in the "data safety" section of our Google Play listing.
The full detail is in our privacy policy.

- No advertising identifier, no ad network, no audience measurement tool, no crash reporter.
- No IP address in our own data.
- No precise location, and never in the background. Approximate location is read only when you ask for what is near you, with the app open. Its history is not kept.
- No contact from your address list, no messages, no calendar, no files, no web browsing history. There is no messaging in ijik.
- No financial or banking data — nothing is paid for inside the app.
- No health data, no biometric data.
- No age, no date of birth.
We sell no data. We pass none to any advertiser, any broker, any analytics service.
Four technical providers act on our behalf:
- Supabase — hosts the database and authentication, in Ireland.
- Google — draws the maps and suggests addresses. It receives the address text you type, and a listing's approximate location when it draws its map.
- Google, through its notification service — receives your device's token and the notification's content.
- Cloudflare — serves the `ijik.app` site and the regulatory pages.
Only one piece of data is declared *shared* in Google Play's sense: approximate location, because Google receives it on its own behalf when it draws a map. That is the careful and truthful declaration.
A classifieds platform is public by nature. Visible to all, including without an account:
- your listings: title, description, price, condition, city, photos, approximate location
- your public name — handle, or first name followed by the initial of your last name — and your profile photo
- your rating and the approved reviews concerning you
- your storefront counters: active listings, sold listings, join date
Your listings are also readable on the web and indexed by search engines. The way to reach you is not on them.
The number you make reachable is shown only to signed-in people. A visitor without an account sees the listing, not the way to reach you.
You appear nowhere until you have published a listing or left an approved review, and there is no directory of members: a storefront is reached from a listing or a review, never from a list of accounts.
Your full name is never shown.
Your email address, your address book and its exact coordinates, the numbers you did not make reachable, your favourites, your searches and your blocks are visible to you alone.
In Ireland, in the European Union.
In transit: every communication between the app and our servers is encrypted.
At rest: passwords are never kept in clear text.
On access: every query checks your identity at the level of the database itself, before returning anything. That control does not depend on the app.
Your exact address: it is the database that rounds an approximate listing's location to a cell of about one kilometre, as the row is written. Your exact coordinates cannot become public, not even through a programming mistake.
You can delete your account and your data from the app, in the Account section.
See our dedicated account deletion page for the detail of what is erased.
