By creating an account on ijik, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
These terms form an agreement between you and ijik. They create no agreement between ijik and anyone you deal with on the platform.
ijik is a meeting place. We introduce people who want to sell to people who want to buy. That is all we do.
ijik is not a seller. We own none of the items advertised, we have never seen them, we do not store them and we do not ship them.
ijik is not a party to your dealings. When you buy or sell on ijik, the contract is between you and the other person. We are not in it.
ijik handles no payment. You agree the price and the means of payment directly with the other party, off the platform.
We do not check listings before they are published beyond making sure they follow these rules. We guarantee neither the existence, nor the condition, nor the lawfulness, nor the value of the items advertised. Nor do we guarantee the identity or the solvency of the people you meet.
You must be at least 16 years old to use ijik.
You are responsible for your account: for your password, for what you publish, and for what is done from your account.
An account belongs to one person. You may not lend it, sell it, or transfer it.
You must give accurate information. A profile that impersonates someone else is removed.
You may delete your account at any time from the app.
You keep ownership of what you publish: your text, your photos.
By publishing on ijik, you allow us to display that content on the platform, in search results, and in the links you or others share. This permission is free of charge and ends when you take the content down — except for copies already shared by third parties, over which we have no hold.
You warrant that what you publish is yours, or that you have the right to publish it. A photo taken from another site is not yours.
### 6.1 Forbidden goods and services
It is forbidden to offer on ijik:
- illegal, counterfeit or stolen goods
- weapons, ammunition, explosives
- drugs, controlled substances, prescription medicines
- protected live animals, or animals whose trade is regulated
- official documents: passports, identity cards, licences, diplomas
- personal data, contact lists, online accounts
- sexual content, or services of a sexual nature
- money, currency, crypto-assets, financial securities
- financial services, loans, or promises of return
- any item or service whose sale is forbidden by the applicable law
### 6.2 Forbidden behaviour
It is forbidden to:
- publish, pass on or solicit sexual content involving a minor. We report these cases to the authorities — in Morocco to the national police through e-blagh.ma, and in Canada, where ijik is published from, to cybertip.ca — and the account is deleted without warning.
- publish a misleading listing: fake photo, fake price, item that does not exist
- deceive someone to obtain money or goods: take payment without delivering, deliver something other than what was advertised, ask for a payment or a deposit under a false pretext
- publish the same listing several times to occupy the first page
- publish a listing in a category it does not belong to
- harass, threaten, insult, or make hateful or discriminatory remarks
- pass yourself off as someone else, or as ijik
- collect other users' contact details for cold selling
- use an automated program to extract the platform's content
- try to reach data that is not meant for you
- get around a sanction by creating a new account
### 6.3 What we expect of you
Meet people in a public place. Check the item before you pay. Be wary of any request for payment in advance, of anyone in a hurry, of any offer that is too good.
We publish a page of safety advice. We invite you to read it.
We review the listings published and the reports we receive.
We may refuse, hide or take down a listing that does not follow these terms, without notice.
We may restrict or suspend an account that breaks these rules repeatedly or seriously.
When we take a moderation decision about you, we tell you and we give you the reason.
If you consider a decision unjustified, write to us at contact@ijik.app.
We are under no duty to watch all content at all times, but we act when unlawful content is reported to us.
If you see a listing or a behaviour that breaks these rules, report it from the app.
A report must be made in good faith. Mass-reporting a competitor to make them disappear is itself a breach of these terms.
ijik is free today. Publishing, searching, getting in touch: nothing is charged.
Some features may become paid. Their terms and their prices will be shown to you before any payment, and you will never be charged without your explicit agreement.
We do our best to keep ijik working, but we do not guarantee an uninterrupted service.
We may change, suspend or stop all or part of the service. Were we to stop ijik for good, we would warn you and leave you time to retrieve your content.
We provide ijik as it is.
We are not liable for:
- dealings concluded between users, nor for their outcome
- the accuracy of listings published by users
- the behaviour of the people you meet on the platform
- damage arising from a transaction we are not a party to
- an interruption of the service, a loss of data from a technical incident, or content published by a third party
We remain liable for our own failings, to the extent the applicable law provides. Nothing in these terms sets aside a liability that cannot lawfully be set aside.
We may, depending on how serious it is:
- take down the content concerned
- restrict access to some features
- suspend your account
- delete your account for good
A deletion for a serious breach is final, and creating a new account to get around it is a fresh breach.
We may change these terms as the service evolves.
If a change alters what you commit to, we will tell you by email and ask you to accept the new version before you carry on using ijik.
Minor changes do not trigger that procedure.
Every version is dated and kept. You may ask us at any time which version you accepted, and when.
ijik is run from Quebec, Canada.
These terms are governed by the law of Quebec, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, which continue to apply.
Should a clause of these terms be held invalid, the others would continue to apply.
