Community guidelines — ijik

Version: v1

Effective date: 27 September 2026

ijik brings together people who do not know each other. These guidelines exist so that everyone gets a fair deal, and so that those who cheat are shown the door.

They are short. Please read them.

Sell what you actually have

One listing, one item. If you are selling three different phones, post three listings.

Your own photos, not someone else's. Photograph the item. A picture found online makes people believe in something you do not have.

The real price, from the start. A low price posted to attract buyers, then pushed up in negotiation, wastes everybody's time.

The item's true condition. A scratch, a missing part, a repair: say so. The buyer will see it anyway, and will walk away.

The right category. A listing placed outside its category to gain visibility gets in everyone else's way.

Do not repost the same listing to climb back to the top. Edit yours instead if it is not finding a buyer.

Speak to each other properly

Reply, even to say no. A "it's sold" is worth more than silence.

No insults, no threats, no contempt. Neither about the item, nor about the person.

No racist or sexist remarks, and nothing aimed at someone's origin, religion, disability or orientation. Those get no warning.

No sexual content involving a minor, in any form. We report it to the authorities — in Morocco to the national police through e-blagh.ma, and in Canada, where ijik is published from, to cybertip.ca — and the account is deleted immediately.

Do not keep chasing someone who has stopped replying. A refusal does not have to be explained.

Do not use ijik for cold selling. A seller's contact details are there to discuss their listing, not to pitch them something else.

Stay careful

Meet in a public place, in daylight, with people around.

Check the item before you pay. Take your time. An honest seller will let you.

Never pay in advance to someone you do not know.

Be wary of what is too good. A brand-new item at half price, a seller in a hurry, a complicated story to explain the urgency: those are the usual signs.

Never share your banking codes, your passwords, or a photo of your identity papers.

ijik will never ask you for your password, nor to pay anything outside the app.

Do not deceive anyone to obtain money or goods. Taking payment without delivering, or delivering something other than what was advertised, is fraud — and we treat it as such.

What you may not sell here

No weapons, no drugs, no medicines.

No official documents, no online accounts, no personal data.

No counterfeits, no stolen goods.

No money, no currency, no cryptocurrency, no financial investment.

No sexual content, no service of a sexual nature.

No protected animals.

If in doubt, do not post — write to us.

Report what is wrong

If a listing looks fake to you, if someone speaks to you badly, if you suspect a scam: report it from the app.

We review every report.

Report in good faith. Bringing down a competitor through repeated reports is itself a breach, and we treat it as such.

What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on how serious it is:

We take the listing down and we tell you why.

We limit your account for a time.

We delete your account in case of a serious breach, or of repeat offences.

We inform you of every decision and of its reason. If you consider it unfair, write to us at contact@ijik.app.

Creating a new account to get around a sanction is a fresh breach.
